Votes for Women
August 12, 1921 to August 12, 2021

Celebrate the 101st anniversary of Women’s Right to Vote with Bloom Tours. Learn how Newport played an important role in the 19th amendment. We will start our day with a 90 min guided tour of Newport. Our local step on guide will be dressed as a suffragette and highlight the sights connected with the vote campaign and the women of Newport. After our tour, enjoy lunch at the Atlantic Restaurant while you watch a video about the history of US suffrage. After lunch, take part in a women’s right to vote rally. This afternoon, we will visit the Marble house, home to Alva Vanderbilt Belmont. Alva was known to hold rallies at this mansion. Take a self guided audio tour of this gorgeous mansion that features more than half a million cubic feet of marble. Complete the day with free time in downtown Newport before departing for home.
